Time unfolds like a collage assembled along the path of life—each fragment softly telling its story. This is the impression I found in Wang Shu-Chu’s works: a gentle wisdom of coexisting with time, expressed in a slow and steady rhythm.
Her ceramics are free from excessive ornamentation, revealing the quiet beauty of everyday life in its purest form—a return to the essence of calm. Inspired by her homeland of wide rice fields, sunrises, sunsets, and the natural world, her creations are drawn from the poetry of the everyday—from wildflowers and grass by the roadside to the architecture of the city.
By chance, she began working with clay three years ago. Through "everyday pottery," she captures fleeting moments of ordinary life. Her works are embedded with symbols rooted in Taiwan’s land—simple, yet full of quiet strength—reflecting the harmony between the artist and the place she calls home.
Stories in Clay is a conversation between the creator and the viewer. Amidst the hustle and complexity of life, it invites us to pause and notice the small yet profound moments. It reminds us that every chapter of life deserves a place to rest, and to be listened to—gently, slowly
